In this high-power view of the growth (epiphyseal) plate,
the zones of proliferation, hypertrophy and calcification
can be seen from top to bottom. The result of this
process is the formation of calcified cartilage
trabeculae, which are later remodeled by osteoblasts to
bone trabeculae.
Comment
Trabeculae at the bottom of the image are most likely
bone trabeculae (note osteocytes in lacunae).
