Summary
Findings
The slide shows neoplastic plasma cells with eccentric round to oval purple nuclei and basophilic cytoplasms. Some binucleated forms are present.

Impression
Multiple myeloma

Clinical Pathologic Correlation
Proliferation of a single clone of neoplastic plasma cells results in the production of a single homogeneous immunoglobulin or its fragments. In 15-20% of cases, plasma cells produce only or light chain, which, because of their low molecular weight, are excreted in the urine as Bence-Jones protein.

Preparation
Smear, Wright stain

View
Light micrograph

Specimen
Tumor tissue in the bone
