In this medium-power image, the entire thickness of the
mucosa is seen. Note the fingerlike villi with prominent
goblet cells. Intestinal glands with Paneth cells are seen beneath the villi.
Comment
Villi are present only in the small intestine, while
intestinal glands are found throughout the small and
large intestine.
