In this low-magnification section of an inactive or
resting mammary gland, glandular elements are clearly seen. They are supported by loose
connective tissue, and surrounded by dense irregularly arranged connective tissue and adipose tissue.
Comment
The mammary gland is a branched tubuloalveolar gland. In the inactive gland, there is much more connective tissue than glandular elements.
