Simple cuboidal epithelium of the follicle surrounds
colloid containing thyroid hormones bound to the
thyroglobulin.
Comment
The height of the follicle epithelium varies from low
cuboidal to almost columnar depending on whether the thryoid gland is inactive, or actively synthesizing or secreting hormones, respectively.
