Summary
Findings
At higher power, the intestinal gland of the colon is seen to contain numerous goblet cells. A few absorptive cells can be seen between goblet cells. Note the intestinal
glands surrounded by lamina propria.
Comment
The mucus from goblet cells lubricates the lumen for the passage of fecal material, while the absorptive cells
remove water from the contents of the colon.
