In this image, the gastric mucosa overlies a well
vascularized submucosa. Beneath the submucosa, the
smooth muscle of the muscularis propria is evident. At
this magnification, the gastric pits and gastric glands of
the mucosa can be seen.
Comment
Note that the gastric mucosa is tricolored which reflects different functions of the gastric pits and glands.
