In this low-power view of the gastro-esophageal junction,
there are abrupt changes in the epithelium of the
mucosa. Note the continuation of the submucosa and
muscularis propria from the esophagus into the stomach.
Comment
Though not shown in this view, the esophagus is
covered by a serosa at this point.
