In these cross (left) and longitudinal (right) sections of
decalcified bone, compact bone surrounds the marrow
cavity containing bone marrow and a cancellous bone
trabeculum (left image).
Comment
Clear spaces within the compact bone most likely
represent Haversian canals, although a higher
magnification is necessary to see the vasculature within.
